Meet Hoganne Ashleigh Harrison-Walton
Hoganne A. Harrison-Walton is a native of Milledgeville, Georgia. Her roots to Baldwin County can be traced back to 5 generations. She is a member of the 2018 Leadership Georgia Class and the 2013 Leadership Baldwin Class. She was featured in the 2020 Edition of the Milledgeville Scene Magazine where she was recognized as one of Baldwin County’s 40 under 40 Rising Star.

In 2003, she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History from Spelman College and also graduated with Departmental Honors. She received a Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, Atlanta, GA, in 2005. She then pursued and received a Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, MI, in 2009.
In that same year, Attorney Harrison-Walton was admitted to the Georgia State Bar. She represents clients in many areas such as, juvenile law, criminal law, family law, and personal injury. She has been admitted to practice in all Georgia State courts, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the United States District Court of the Middle District of Georgia. She is a member of the Baldwin County Bar Association and the Ocmulgee Bar Association.
Her State Bar of Georgia involvements includes the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyer’s Division Executive Council Middle District Representative, the 2011 State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyer’s Division Leadership Academy.
Hoganne Harrison-Walton has written and published several historical and social papers. In 2003 for her Spelman College Senior Thesis she researched and wrote “Passing the Torch: A Historical Documentation ofMilledgeville, Georgia during the Civil Rights Movement. The official publication is held in the Spelman College History Department Archives Center. She has also written papers on Female Genital Mutilation in African countries, which are on reserve at the University of Cape Town, South Africa main library.
What is most notable is Attorney Hoganne Harrison-Walton passion to serve the community. Throughout her eleven years of practice, she has provided pro bono legal services to the DeKalb County Adoption Assistance to Grandparents and Relatives Caregiver, the Macon Regional Office of Georgia Legal Service Program, and Atlanta Legal Aid. She is also a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit and Fulton County Superior Court. From 2012-2014 she was the Ocmulgee Circuit Representative for the Georgia YLD Inaugural Legal Food Frenzy. Through the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorney Foundation Community Service Organization Sister to Sister, she mentored young ladies that are low-level offenders that are on probation in the Fulton County Juvenile Court. She has served on the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Member.
She volunteers in the local After School Programs, where she creates activities that promote positive attitudes and build self-esteem for students.
She is also a very zealous fit enthusiast. GoHARD is a program she created to educate and promote the health and wellness of the community, by providing various tools that promote healthy lifestyle decisions, ultimately uplifting the community.
Her desire to serve the community is shown by her pursuant to expanding her advocacy skills. She has received Family Violence Training through the Georgia Legal Service Program on a number of occasions. She also lobbied for the passage of HB 200 – Human Trafficking-Crimes and offenses.
In her spare time, she likes to exercise, travel, and go antique hunting. She is a three-time cancer survivor and is a dedicated supporter of the American Cancer Society. She has a wonderful and supportive husband, Erik J. Walton. They do not have any children, but they both love animals. They have two cats and two dogs—La-La, Te-Te, Pepper, and Zulu—which are very demanding. They consider them as their children.
